How To Apply
"Whenever I came in and talked with Clarice, in the beginning I was questioning my age. I'm 40 years old, and the girls I saw around me were in their mid 20s. I looked at Clarice and said ‘I don't know, maybe this isn't the right decision for me. Maybe I'm biting off a little bit more than I can chew.’ And she laughed and said ‘Absolutely not. We need nurses of every age. Not only do we need young nurses, but we need nurses with some life experience. You're still in the prime of your life.’ And when I left I just thought 'you know what, she’s right.'" -Becky C.

FAQs
- How do transfer credits work?
-
After starting your application with us, if you have college credits from another school, you may request an official transcript be sent to us from that institution. Once we receive your TCTC application and official transcripts from your previous institution, our registrar will evaluate your transcript and we will let you know which classes, if any, are eligible for transfer.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept transfer credits for our core nursing classes; only general education classes will be evaluated. For transfer credit eligibility, please see our Student Catalog for a list of requirements.
Ask A Question - What entrance exams do I need to take?
-
If you are applying for the LPN program, you will take the TEAS exam.
If you are applying for the Accelerated LPN to RN program, you will take the ATI PN Comprehensive Predictor that asks nursing related questions.
Ask A Question - What is the deadline for your application period?
-
We fill our programs on a first come, first qualified, first served basis, so our application deadline is when the program becomes full. Anyone who gets accepted after the program is full will be put on a waitlist and will take the place of anyone who decides not to start the program.
Ask A Question
- How do gen-eds work?
-
We offer the general education classes at our campus, which makes it easier for our students. Unlike other schools, our general education classes are part of our program and can be taken during your program. This allows a student to get in and out faster; however, a lot of our students take the general education classes before their program begins, which lightens the full-time course load. Give Admissions a call to see which option might work best for you.
Ask A Question - What prerequisites do I need for my program?
-
The only program that has prerequisites is the Accelerated LPN to RN program. The Accelerated LPN to RN program is for current Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who are IV Certified. If you are applying for the Accelerated LPN to RN program you will need to complete the 17 prerequisite credit hours BEFORE the program begins. The prerequisites include : Anatomy & Physiology I & II, English Composition, Introduction to Psychology and Principles of Human Nutrition.
The LPN program does not have prerequisites, so you can get started right away.
Ask A Question - Besides the application, what all do I need to do to get into the program?
-
That depends on the program, so the best answer is to give us a call. In general, we will need copies of a few documents, two satisfactory background screenings, two entrance exams completed, and some medical records. Call us for the checklist though!
